accordance with the instructions published by the UK Cabinet Office and

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 2.7  tCO2e by year end 2028.

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

We have already implemented a series of very successful and impactful measures to reduce our carbon emissions. This includes:

  • All invoicing and reporting is now electronic and all candidate data is stored electronically. Taken together, these two initiatives have enabled us to sustainably dispose of over 30,000 pages of documentation.
  • All staff are encouraged to travel to the office via public transport
  • All electricity purchased is offset

 

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Measuring the success of encouraging staff to commute by public transport
  • Introducing further remote working
  • Purchasing energy saving PCs and Monitors

2024-2029 plan

  • Migrate more of our IT to energy efficient SaaS
  • Introduce further offsetting.

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[1] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[2].

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard[3].

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).

.Policy Statement

This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, locums and suppliers.

 Atlantis Medical Ltd strictly prohibits the use of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations. We have and will continue to be committed to implementing systems and controls aimed at ensuring that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within our organisation. We expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.

2.Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

 

Modern slavery is a term used to encompass slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, bonded and child labour and human trafficking. Human trafficking is where a person arranges or facilitates the travel of another person with a view to that person being exploited. Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights.

3.Responsibilities

 

· The Company, our managers and our colleagues have responsibilities to ensure our fellow employee as well as Locums are safeguarded, treated fairly and with dignity.

· Everyone must observe this Policy and be aware that ‘turning a blind eye’ is unacceptable and simply not an option.

 

We will:

- Maintain clear policies and procedures preventing exploitation and human trafficking, and protecting our workforce and reputation;

- Be clear about our recruitment policy;  

- Lead by example by making appropriate checks on all employees, Locums, suppliers, etc. to ensure we know who is working for and through us;

- Ensure we have in place an open and transparent grievance process for all staff;

-  Seek to raise awareness so that our colleagues and Locums know what we are doing to promote their welfare.

 

4.Identifying Slavery

 

There is no typical victim and some victims do not understand they have been exploited and are entitled to help and support. However, the following key signs could indicate that someone may be a slavery or trafficking victim:

- The person is not in possession of their own passport, identification or travel documents.

- The person is acting as though they are being instructed or coached by someone else.

- They allow others to speak for them when spoken to directly.

- They are dropped off and collected from work.

- The person is withdrawn or they appear frightened.

- The person does not seem to be able to contact friends or family freely.

- The person has limited social interaction or contact with people outside their immediate environment.

This list is not exhaustive.

 

A person may display a number of the trafficking indicators set out above but they may not necessarily be a victim of slavery or trafficking. Often you can build up a picture of the person’s circumstances which may indicate something is not quite right. If an individual sense a suspicion, she/he must report it to the HR Department who will follow our reporting procedures.

5.Reporting Slavery

 

· Talking to someone about your concerns may stop someone else from being exploited or abuse.

 · If you think that someone is in immediate danger, dial 999.

· Otherwise, you should discuss your concerns with the Human Resources Manager who will decide a course of action.

· Not all victims may want to be helped and there may be instances where reporting a suspected trafficking case puts the potential victim at risk, so it is important that in the absence of an immediate danger, you discuss your concerns first with the Human Resources Manager before taking any further action.
