My client based in Derby is looking for an experienced Histology Band 6/7 Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract, starting as soon as possible.

The Role:

• Mon - Fri
• 0900 - 1700
• 37.5 hrs p/w

Requirements:

• HCPC Registered as a Biomedical Scientist
• IBMS Specialist Portfolio - Band 6
• MSc or Equivalent - Band 7
• Good knowledge of quality systems - Band 7
• NHSCSP screening qualification for ThinPrep
• NHSCSP screening stats meeting National requirements for sensitivity
• Checking ability - with evidence
• Embedding
• Microtomy - The primary task within this role is Microtomy, so an ability to section at a minimum an average of 30 blocks per hour including more complex blocks such as levels and cores is essential
• Histology microscopic QC (H&E, IHC, specials)
• Performing Special Stains
